pre and post only if you slamm the weights. if its a lazy day with weights it will be a bad idea for pre and post. Besides your pre should be 1 hour before work out and a whole food meal.

I would recommend eating something like oatmeal or sweet potatoes pre workout, and have the pop tarts after
But honestly either way is beneficial, I use my high GI carbs after a workout, a lot of people use them before. Its your preference.

This will be my final comment on you, and any thread/post you might make in the foreseeable future.
We've established that you have a gut and your diet is very poor. Also, your scale pics are unconvincing and demonstrate nothing. But it's no skin off my nose. If that IS your real weight, it's not muscle mass. You, Coop, are extremely lucky to have so many knowledgeable people on here supporting and advising you. They have an incredible amount of patience also. I just need to read a few of your threads to find this out. But IMO MAB should have a special section where you, Jaskarn and TheChosenOne can all talk in a mutually deceptive environment. |

I started lifting when I was 17, after a year I thought I was fairly big and strong, but I had no idea what big and strong was.
Im 5"11 now and was about that when I started lifting, when I started gym I was like 70kg (154lb), I'm about 85kg now (187lb). Age plays a large part in muscle mass as well, so does learning and growing. Over a year ago I thought I was training hard and eating well, now that I look back, with the things i have learned, I feel like I was slacking off back then. In a year I hope to look back on msyelf now and think "I'm training harder and eating better than I did a year ago". Just keep training, keep reading and keep learning, you will get there. My mom gave me a very good rule for eating (she has really helped me a lot with diet over the years), she always says "Eat close to the Earth". This means means eat as naturally as you can, drop the soda drinks, the junk food and eat natural real food. You get hungry? Its easy to reach for a poptart and soda, but instead walk to the freezer, whip out a big steak and cook that bad boy up, while thats cooking start preparing a nice big helping of potatoes and veggies, not the stuff you get in freezer bags, but the stuff you can buy from farmers. Getting big and strong is physical and mental. But most people over look the mental side. You have to train yourself to be mentally strong, you have to have a lot of heart and you need to push yourself beyond your limits to get big. This is something I have learned over the past year and a bit. Anyone can walk into a gym and move stuff around, but only the few people dedicated people have the heart to truly lift, its up to you which of the people you want to be.

The needle style scales can vary as much as 7-14 lbs, either way, depending on how someone stands on them and on how old they are etc, though, having said that, you do appear to be standing correctly as well.

Coop, I hope I can make the statement I am about to make with out offense. In my short time here, I have observed that you too easily get caught up in the minutia. Eat right, eat enough, work hard in the gym and get enough sleep. Do these things with discipline and progression and you will see growth. All the rest, the supps, the rep issues, this and that, are serving as distractions from the goal. Your goal is to get stronger, leaner, bigger. Eat right, eat enough, work hard in they gym and get enough sleep and it will happen, the rest is just minutia. When you are a year out of stepping on stage or getting on the lifting platform, then you should consider getting some coaching on diet, etc... until then, focus on the basics and don't get distracted by all the rest.
