Do the program as designed for a month without missing a workout. If you want to stretch and run on off days, by all means have at it.
The key thing we want for you Coop is just to take small steps. Concentrate on getting all the workouts in this week, and then next week. Gain some momentum.
Don't do any extra weight training on off days.
Take those 3 days per week and turn them into gold. Maximize them. Get crazy about tearing them up. Don't be concerned with extra work.
You have a program that can help you hit your goals. Put your nose to the grind stone, strap on your tunnel vision goggles, and drive on.
Again, running, stretching or sex on off days is ok. No weight training.
Remember that a wise man masters the journey not by thinking about what lies ahead, but by making the next step the best possible step. You create the journey one step - one workout - at a time. You have the tools to walk, now walk. Don't think 10 steps down the road. Don't think about next week. Focus on your next workout only.
