agreed on i definetly wont get 5x10 right now. all in one i can only get about 6 dips, so 5 sets of dip work, I like this because i need to work on my dip form, its horrible i go to low and hurt my shoulders have to stop that, 90 degress arm flare and lean forward correct?

It is more of a pivot from your shoulder so that if you were to view yourself from the side your arms are straight, and your torso is angled a few degrees to the open position. Doing this loads your whole upper body. The further you can angle your body back the greater the load. This is why gymnast have such huge upper body strength and musculature. I have set a bench PR before by only doing dips. I had not benched in about 20 months, but had been doing dips andother gymnastic type upper body work. I benched 240 after walking the weight up from 180. Several months later after doing conventional BB type work I did 280. Clearly, dips done correctly are not for sissies. |

i second this...my dip bars are pretty close so i cant get the wide grip dip. i feel it more in my arms
