I had a lamonectomy and discectomy in 1996. I didn't start lifting until 2009. I started with Squats, Deads and Good Mornings. I confess I do rack deads mostly, I train alone, at home and do not own the floor I would be dropping the bar on. However, I feel I just have not trained unless I have done some squats or deads. BTW, reached my 2010 goal of 1.5 x BW for my rack deads last week. I am almost there with my squats. This despite a back surgery and 2 hernia repairs. |

I can honestly say that I feel my lower back is much stronger than the average guy my age and I can only attribute that to lifting.
