Default Exercises for ab size

No one ever talks about ab size. Everyone's always thinking about the 6 pack tho.

What are the best exercises for packing on ab muscle?

I mean, the bigger, the easier to see right?

depending on your BF%. If you have a high BF% no matter how big your abs are you will not be able to see them.

BF needs to be low enough to see them, correct. BUT if they were just masive then yes you would see them with more BF then some who doesn't train ab's for size. If you want to build ab muscle you need to add weight to your ab routine. Weighted decline crunches, hyper-extensions, cable crunches etc.

I can see some of my abs I am above 20% body fat. I have thick abs that I believe came from heavy work. Abs are like any other muscle. You have to work them with resistance to get them to grow.

100% Agreed

Never care to have a sixer, but I have some massive abdominal size and strength from those exercises.

Lets not leave out the bench press and overhead press.

You know your bench is total body when your AB hurts to breathe heavy the next day

Squats, benchpress and deadlifts. Throw in some weighted legraises or situps once in a while and thats my best advice.

X2...very good advice. Heavy compound movements work wonders in strengthening the core and building abdominal thickness. I save the direct ab work for precontest.
