Next time you have someone that doesn't want to squat, make them do donkey squats. They will opt for squats after that.

It feels different to me then a leg press. Leg presses never hit my quads so dramatically.

But then again, I haven't used a leg press in 23 years so my memory is a bit weak.

it does look like you would need to use more stabilizing muscles to keep the bar on your back tho

It took me a while to find proper foot positioning. I didn't struggle much with bar stability though.
