Thanks ehubbard, I can appreciate your post so much. The person(s) mentioned in that post are the reason I built my own gym. I got so tired of everybody, and I mean everybody telling me what I was doing wrong even though I was twice as strong as they were. Or telling me what to eat and what not to eat, when they had more bodyfat and less muscle than me. With that said, I did find it helpful to inquire from the guys at the gym who were in better shape than me and who were stronger than me. They often had great insight and their knowledge helped me get to where I am at to this point and I am greatful for them. The thing is, they were not the ones harrassing everybody. They only spoke when you asked them for help. Anyway, I just got tired of it all and built my own little gym that is only available to a select few people(about 8) that I know and trust and who helped me put it all together. Consequently, a few of the guys who I did respect at the gym are some of the ones who are using my gym now, and I dont charge them a penny.

Late last week I received a long email from a younger trainee telling me I wasn't eating enough, and was going to lose my muscle and strength, etc. My diet on the average provides about 2600 to 2700 calories per day (with re-feeds factored in), and my metabolism requires 3200 to 3400 per day. Probably more like 3200 with me sitting most of the day. Anyway, I do what works for me based on experience. But if I were to officially post my plan on another forum, I'm sure it would get torn to shreds even more.

As far as losing strength is concerned, send him your vids of you squatting 500, and have him send you his vid of the same. Correct me if I'm wrong. I seem to remeber something about being able to increase strength on, slight cal deficits becasue your body is turned into a furnace and pushing for strength makes it use your fat stores better? |
