Default Vince Gironda's training approach

I want to ask about Vince Gironda's training approach. I get super motivated when I read about him, but then I look at how hardcore he worked out, my motivation goes away. I train mostly for strength, but I am not a powerlifter by any means.

This is his 10x10. Other then squats and dips, I don't see the value. I know the guy was ripped, but he doesn't look very big. Does anyone know if he build his physique on the full body approach, and then later put together the 10x10 stuff?

Day 1

Legs, Chest and Biceps

Squat - 10 set of 10 reps
Dips - 10 sets of 10 reps
Preacher Curls - 10 set of 10 reps

Print Day 1, Click Here!

Day 2

Rest

Day 3

Back, Shoulders and Triceps

Cable Row - 10 set of 10 reps
Lateral Raise - 10 set of 10 reps
Tricep Rope Pushdown - 10 set of 10 reps

Print Day 3, Click Here!

Day 4

Rest

Day 5

Repeat day 1, etc.

Im not sure how he built his body, but i know he recommended that beginners start with a fullbody circuit routine, just to burn them out and beat the stubbornness out of them

I always wondered if Vince's approach was detrimental in the long term. I know GVT-style is very good in the short term. Then again, I don't know if her ran it long term, or cycled?

vince cycled, his 10x10 and other box workouts were more of a specialization
