I just started not going as low as I was previously when squatting in order to lift more weight as progress was slowing down. If I can still feel my hamstrings being worked hard does this mean I am going down deep enough? Is it normal for the military press to make your lower back feel sore? Or is this a sign of poor form? thanks for any feedback |

I don't think everyone needs to squat ass to grass when they squat but you do need to get your hip crease below your knee to break parallel. Take some videos of your lifts and we can help more. Lower back pain when OHP'ing would suggest you're leaning back too far and not pushing your head through to finish the press but again if you post videos, that will help us diagnose.

Like Ltl said, get a video or let an experienced lifter help you with squat form. You can get the kinks worked out in no time.
