Its what you do with that time in my opinion. I could probably maintain what I have and maybe get stronger with 20 minutes per session, but like Babs said, there has to be a minimum level somewhere. On the other extreme, a 3 hour session isn't likely to be fruitful after the first 60-90 minutes, unless its something like events training with lots of breaks in between.

No it does not. More time may seem like a good idea but in reality if you are struggling with the moves just to get more time in, then you are not really helping your body any.

Well, yes and no.
At least for a guy/girl just starting out lifting as often as possible while still remaining fresh is usually the best option. Lifting weights is a skill as much as it is about brute strength, and that skill can be improved upon by more practice. However only perfect practice makes perfect, as the saying goes. |
