Default Small triceps

My chest, back, legs and even biceps are coming along nicely but my triceps look pathetic. Any advice? Right now I am using an upper lower split and do 3 sets of close grips one day and overhead dumbbell tricep extensions the next upper day.

Since the summer of 2011 my bench press has moved from 165 to 245x5 and my seated press is up to 155 for 5 reps. My weight is also up from 170 to 190 pounds. Could this just be bad genetics or impatience on my part?

Probably a bit of impatience I think.

Your overhead press is relatively low compared to your Bench. I'd suspect your Bench is quite chest dominant and so when you have a pure shoulder/tricep exercise like the Press it tells a story. Improving that Seated Press will help.

Adding in some weight Dips will help, you can have a decent Bench with a good chest/shoulders and relatively lacking triceps but there's not much you can do in the Dips to avoid working the triceps.

Have you researched this question yourself, to find an answer? Or did you just come ask a question without looking into it on your own?

You are the best person to answer this question. Look at your training log, and see if something sticks out to you.

There are a lot of variables that need to be considered, and it may just be that you have not allowed enough time for your body to develop.

Are you adding weight on the CGBP, or are you stagnant?
Have you considered dropping the DB extensions?
Have you considered making front pressing a primary move and bench a supplement?
Do you do dips?
What is it about your Triceps you think is lacking?
Who's triceps are you comparing your physique too?
What do you think is the answer to your own question?

ECT.

These are not question that you need to answwer here in the thread. These are questions you need to ask yourself. BE your own Captain, and you will be more successful in this pursuit.

Do you think I might benefit from moving from 5 reps to 8-12 on seated presses?
