Good luck. Few, if any, actors have the talent of Hardy and the physical stature of the comic book Bane. You did see Batman and Robin, right? The Bane in that was an absolute joke and all three of Nolan's films have been grounded in reality - they're an interpretation of a character, a fantastic one at that, and they don't need to follow the comic books to the tee. Especially considering the multitude of Batman versions over the years.

Also, you could argue that TDKR is loosely based on Knightfall (DO NOT GOOGLE if you haven't seen the film) rather that Returns and Bane looks ridiculous in that. Some things don't translate from page into live action, and this is one of them.

If you're commenting on the thread, way to be a douche when I don't think anyone said they were impressed. If you're talking to me, go **** yourself.

It's been my experience that comments like yours are the fig leaf that hides a host of insecurities.

I honestly preferred Jeep Swenson as Bane.

R.I.P.

That was a convincing Bane. When I was watching TDKR, I was unable to suspend my disbelief that Hardy was the same guy from the comics.

Grounded in reality? How was a little girl able to successfully make the jump to escape the prison when grown men with fully developed muscles couldn't?

Don't get butt-hurt over it. I'm certainly not insecure, nor was I directing my statement at anyone in particular. It was mainly referring to sedentary people in the U.S., which are the vast majority.

Wow!...a simple how to look like this? turned in to a what do I think of the actor chosen to play the part and does he represent the comic book version in any way?...so, what was the question again?

Oh yeah, haven't seen the film, haven't read the comic, personally don't care who they chose for the part.

I never understood why someone would want to look like an actor in a movie, whether it's a superhero movie, Fight Club, or anything else. Why limit your physique goals to what that particular actor achieved aesthetically, regardless of how he looks, especially when most of them aren't impressive to someone who's lifted weights properly and consistently for a few years?

I like Bane in the movie but wish he was just a little bigger.

The contrast between the actors has to be considered. This is what we get in Avengers. In the comics, Thor is about 6'6" and 640. So, they cast Hemsworth, who is 6"2" and who, by default, towers over everyone except Evans (who plays Cap). It maintains the visual just enough to work.
MC get's it!
