As always i appreciate your responses to my questions. i have a quest regarding the heavy day. I really have issues (although caloric surplus) to progress on them. My heavy day is 3x5 with full rest and the light is 3x10-15. The light day progress well. Some ideas? Interestingly when i trained some time ago for 4 sets in the 6-8 range to failure or even 3x3 to failure (!) with 3-4 min rest and needed to decrease the weight each set to fall in the rep range again i progressed quite fast and good but overreached after 3 weeks. But I favour sets across nowdays because they dot burn me mentally and physically out. What should i change? Leave more reps in the tank? Increase volume to 5x5? You have to admit that at some stage you won't see linear progress, so don't pressure yourself! On my heavy days, I go heavy. Several sets of HEAVY singles. Just my way and it's worked for me.
