Default Motor Coordination Influences Repetition Prescription

Another interesting topic.

Charles Poliquin's Blog - Five Lessons I Learned from Vladimir Zatsiorsky

Quote:
Zatsiorsky says the loading parameter for repetitions depends on the amount of motor coordination involved and also on how sport-specific the exercise is. For a weightlifter, Zatsiorsky says, the clean and jerk should be performed for 1-3 reps, the squat for 3-5 reps, and curls for 5-7 reps. My PICP program covers many of the factors to consider when selecting repetitions, and much of the science for these guidelines originates from pioneering sport scientists such as Vladimir Zatsiorsky.
