What are some of the visual signs you can use to tell that you are getting big? Some I can think of include: 1. When standing relaxed with arms down, you can see your lats from the front. 2. Your torso makes a "V" without flexing your lats/back. 3. Your entire body, head to toe, makes an "X". Anyone care to add any insights they might have?

First and foremost would have to be yoke. When you look in a mirror (mirror break!) at only your shoulders and traps and they start to look thick and impressive as stand alones, you're in a good place.
Also, comparing arm and forearm size to wrist size, and flexing your arm and comparing it to head size. When your arm starts to look big flexed compared to your head size, you are getting big. When your forearm width forms a thick wedge and makes your wrist size look small, you're getting big.
