Myself, really. The past me, weak and scrawny (and unfit as hell). The present me, improving every day. And the future me, big and strong and just damn impressive looking, lol.

My fat used to. I was so out of shape it was not even funny. Getting much better though, and I am loving it.

It's like asking me what motivates me to brush my teeth.

It's habit.

Now, to work out hard I need motivation, just as I need motivation to brush my teeth for three minutes instead of two, or floss. But to show up and do some kind of squat, some kind of push, some kind of pull, some kind of hip hinge, no motivation is needed.

Habit.

I was in the military and got out with some issues. I found the only way to truly get better was to try to improve my:
1 Spiritual life
2 Relationships
3 Physical body
as often as I can.

I turn into a nervous wreck if I not doing a Bible study, making extra time for my wife, and working out whenever I can.

I used to be a serious alcoholic and occasional (hard) drug user. The alcoholism progressed until the point where it got me in trouble with the law and quite nearly killed me. My mom spent $200 she didn't have on natural detox supplies and I quit instantly (which is incredibly painful. Don't try this unless you're as crazy as me) and I just fucking quit. It hurt like hell. Hell, I tell you.

I remembered my weight training from high school baseball and how much fun that was, how much focus it demanded....so I started doing pushups. I did a shit ton of bodyweight work during my "recovery" from withdrawls, then I kicked the weights in around early-mid 2012.

My motivation is part competition, part the fact that I like looking good, part an act of love towards myself (<----this is one that NONE of us really focus on, but it's true) and part a way to exercise control over myself.

I gain my motivation from other great body builders. Ronnie coleman, flex wheeler and kia greene to name a few.
