Hey Steve. I wanted to run something by you. I think a lot of youngsters are turned off by the idea of bulking because they think they'll just end of becoming fat. But I think if you or someone else wrote an article about clean bulks or a powerbuilding diet and had some pics to get the right idea then some of them would be more willing to a bulking phase. What do you think? Just an idea. We always see articles of cutting fat and getting ripped but not nearly as many articles about the benefits or results of bulking or powerbuilding diets. Think MAB or M&S could do something like that?

I just wanted to say thank you for your help. I know you get flooded with questions; I don't know how you keep your sanity staying on top of it all.

Just saw your conversation on the shout box. I didn't know you were having marital problems. Sorry to hear.

Hi Steve,I've been posting here for a while and got a good response from yourself and other people, unlike on another site where you're just talking to the walls, they wouldn't even notice if you posted you were going to hang yourself the next minute...so I decided to stick around here and say thanks for the help!

Hey Mr. Shaw I was wondering if it is normal that with the more sets you perform of Deadlift, the stronger your grip becomes? Yesterday with my deadlifts I noticed my grip was so weak with my first set that I almost dropped that bar then with the other fives sets it got stronger.

Also, would you recommend lifting straps for Deadlift? I would like to powerlift someday and I'm not sure if straps are allowed. And if they're not I wouldn't want to develop a false grip.

    Your help is always appreciated,
    Adam

    Hi Steve,

I never got the PM to work for me so here is the message I was trying to send!

Thanks for the help and the invitation. I started lifting again last year and have made very steady and measurable progress in the past 18 months. I still stick to your 5 day PMB split with a variation time to time and am stoked with the results! 20 years ago when i was in the Navy i lifted regularly but got away from it for a while. I am back now and powerlifting is very appealing to me! I live and work in a small town on Washington's Olympic Peninsulla. Forks WA has one gym and is fairly well equiped... could be much better. We don't have a good squat rack and I use the smith machine with a barbell rather than the bar on the rails of the smith machine. Rest assured I am not a "bro" or a know it all "Meat Head" haha!! just a 41 year old guy excited about getting into powerlifting. I look forward to being a contributing member of the team and the site.

    Thanks,
    Mike
