Good question.
I think it's a reality. The fat/carb issue as presented in these videos show a trend...the body getting beat down over time from too many carbs, resulting in a number of health issues at at times rapid weight gain. I think it is entirely possible that a certain percentage of folks are hyper-sensitive and experience symptoms and weight gain without having the tolerance that most do. If that makes sense? Weston Price observed that "savages" (no offense meant, his term) removed from their environments and eating a white man's diet experienced a myriad of degenerating health issues. So in the context of our discussion this reveals that there certainly is a form of "hyper-sensitivity." Perhaps this is linked to how "natural" their diet was growing up as a child, but they simply don't realize it. Merely a theory of course... Good natural diet as a child, and then more carbs as an adult could easily create the illusion of hypersensitivity. Or perhaps they came off a spell where they were eating fewer grain based carbs and feeling good, and then tried a higher carb approach (higher for then) and responded in the manner that Weston Price observed. Call this the Shaw theory of carb sensitivity if you will. ![]() ![]()

Carb sensitivity is definitely a real thing, just from personal experience.
How can u explain me eating 8oz sweet potato and still looking flat, but the guy next to me eats the same thing and blows up? We've both been depleted the same amount of time and water intake is at zero. Steve can maybe shed some light on this, I depleted for about 6 days prior to my video series, that morning before we trained and they got here I ate 60g's worth of oatmeal and exploded like I had just ate an entire buffet or I had been loading for several days even though I haven't. Ill do some picture taking over the next few weeks when I spike my diet and re-feed glycogen store, Ill use different foods to show how they have different effects.
