Hey guys!!! I have been on Muscle and Strength for a long time, I thought I would make an account here!!!
I have been lifting for almost 5 years now, when I started off I had no idea what I was doing, I was 17. As I learned (most of my stuff from M&S), I decided to train as a bodybuilder, I took protein shakes and creatine, and followed a 4 or 5 day split. About a year and a half ago, I started getting into strength training, as my knowledge progressed, so did my routine, and my progression got faster and faster. I unfortunately hurt my back deadlifting, and it took me about a year to recover from it, I was still lifting, I just couldnt squat much weight at all. Through a little chiro work, and lots of stretching and squatting through the pain and always working on my form, my back is now stronger than it has ever been. I got into Muay Thai about 7 months ago and I love it, I played with some routines trying to combine lifting and Muay Thai (and soon MMA) in a good way, so far I have fallen in love with Rippetoes 3x5. I have seen excellent progression in size and loads of strength, as well as it complementing Muay Thai very well. About 8 months ago I stopped taking supplements and replaced them with real food, and for me that was great!!! I dropped some water weight and my skin was looking a lot better!!! I have been at University for 3 years now, the first year I studied a bachelor of science in applied physics, then changed to a bachelor in mechanical engineering, and have just finished my 2nd year of that. I am taking a break from University for a year (taking 2011 off) to get my personal training qualifications, and to maybe become a strength and conditioning coach (depending on a lot of things). I hope to work in the field for this year, then go back to my degree in 2012, so I can work and study at the same time. So thats a bit of history from me!
