My advice to you Trevor is try to get some sort of consistency going. even if you can only manage 2days a week you can get good results if you training plan is well enough and your rest/nutrition complements it. My advice to losing weight but still being strong is to do strongman cardio instead of conventional cardio.

Example Sprint 60ft with a 180lbs keg for a few sets, once a week. Each week add weight(more water or sand) or add some distance.
I plan to train in the gym 4-5 days a week, and do some bodyweight stuff at home a day or two with saturday being my day off. The tricky part for me is my work schedule (3 or 4 12 hour shifts, with 3 or 4 days off). I don't really want to "lose weight" but lose fat... from reading "old school" bodybuilders' stats (like Sipes), 5'8"@200 lbs isn't unreasonable, but I want to be lean. Due to equipment limitations, I'll probably do a farmer's walk as opposed to a keg.

Thanks for the tips gamma.

When I left the Army in 2003 I really let myself go... 5'8" and 250 lbs of fatty goo until 2007 when I had enough of being fat and feeling like ****. I dropped 50 lbs of fat over the course of 2007-2008 through Arthur's (from Arthur's Hall of Viking Manliness) bodybuilding for fatties:
Bodybuilding 201:Weight Training for Ectomorphs, Gunter Schlierkamp, Mesomorphs, Endomorphs
I stagnated once again when my daughter was born in Dec 08 and I am getting back to work using Chaos & Pain's philosophy and Paleo dietary habits. I know I'm old, but my goal is to look like Chuck Sipes and destroy any ammount of weight I feel like lifting by the time I'm 35 and maintain that until I die. Any advice is much appreciated
Hey, Trevor, welcome. I can already tell you'll like it here.

I know how you feel...I'm hoping to hit my potential before 40 and maintain that for life.

My advice is...stick to your plan! It's a good one!

Hello Trevor,

Chuck Sipes is a great physique to shoot for. He's one of my favorites, among many of the Golden Age Bodybuilders.

Your not old!! You can just toss that sentance in the trashcan, as your not going to be using it around here.

Get a log going, and jump in to the deep end with everybody else. Nobody here will let you drown. Look forward to more from you.
