Hi my name is Brad! I'm new to this site and I hope I can learn a lot here as well as add some meaningful discussion on these boards. I've been training for about 14 years now but more seriously the last 3 years. I am a former fat guy and used to weigh 335lbs. I competed April 28th, 2012 in my first bodybuilding show at 194.5lbs and took 3rd in my class. I hope to compete again someday and eventually get my natural pro card. I train at Body Zone in Reading, PA and New Vision Fitness in Orwigsburg, PA! Looking forwarding to getting to "know" some of you!

Hello everyone.
Nice to meet you all. I'm 46 based in uk. Been training on and off for a number of years nothing very serious and mis directed I think. About 4 years ago I gave myself a fitness kick in the ass, jacked in smoking drinking and eating badly. Then I hit the gym going mad on running cycling swimming spinning and the likes until I was basically a 11st 5 bag of skin and sinues. Then I started spartan workouts and kettlebell stuff. Put on a bit of lost muscle became a bit defined and thought hey this is good. I am now into week 7 of stronglifts and showing some good gains though beginning to plateau a little here and there. For once I feel as though my lifting is showing results not massive gains but gains. I'm more focused than ever and keen to improve I'm here to share my training woes and goals and will greatly accept any help from you guys out there. |

Hey guys!
My name is Dominic and I'm from Austria. I'm a subscriber to the "Bearded Beast of Duloc"-Channel for the longest and that's how I got to know about this forum. I'm a novice training for about half a year seriously now. My first target was basically gaining a good amount of muscle and I made some gains by doing a split program, which I now know was not optimal for a novice. Lately (somehow inspired by the IceCreamFitness and BBoD-Channel) I got more interested in not only gaining muscle, but also gaining strength and power lifting. I just started the 5x5 novice program by Jason Blaha from IceCreamFitness a few weeks ago and make good gains on it. I hope that this forum helps me out with some uprising questions and also with improvement of my form on my major compound lifts. So I hope you guys help me out a bit! Thanks in advance! Dominic |

Hello, my name is Tylor Elliott, I'm 21, and I live in Marietta, Georgia. I have been training for a total of almost three years, and I love every bit of it. I would still consider myself an amateur at the whole game (obviously), but I am ready to get serious about powerbuilding.
When I was in high school my weight was at 305 with a 185 pound bench max. Insane, right? Not my weight is down to 205 with a 295 1rm, 365 squat 1rm, and 405 1rm. I am currently studying Computer Engineering at Southern Polytechnic State University, but have yet to dive in to the major classes. Looking forward to it, though. Kind of a lazy guy. I have a hard time recording calories and remaining strict about recording training sessions. It's time to get out of that though. My philosophy concerning training is that I was always listen to my body and what it can do. It's good to push the limits, but not all the time to where you feel like crap. Pretty simple, but not sure how affective it will be in the long run, so we shall see. Look forward to hearing from anyone that has any helpful tips. I will post my training schedule later on this week. |

Hi All,
My name is Scott. I want to get strong. I'm 6'2" and 210lbs and 40 years old. My passion has always been martial arts. I've always wanted to be strong, but hadn't really figured out how to go about it. I started Strong Lifts 5X5 at the first of the year and have been loving it. I've been following the program as it is and am on week 8. I was a bit frustrated starting with the light weights, but have adopted a long term perspective about what I want to accomplish. The weights are starting to get heavier, though I haven't had to deload yet. I can feel myself getting stronger and love it! I have set my goals for the year and I wonder if they are possible? I'm starting to think they are. I want to squat 300, dead lift 400, bench 225, press 185 by the end of the year. Looking ahead...After I top out of SL 5X5, I'm going to start the Onus Wunsler Starting Strength novice program without the power cleans because I want to dead lift at least once a week. Thanks, Scott |
