Default Hello

Hello to all. My name is David and I found this site by accident. I’m glad I did though. Im not looking to be a bodybuilder, but I want to have a better physique. I love doing Brazilian Jiu-Jitus and have been doing it for 6 years now. I’m 36 years old and at one point 188lbs and it was fat. My weight now is 150lbs at 5’8. I hope to find lots of information here that is helpful and informative. My biggest thing is proper form. I really know nothing about weight lifting. I go to the gym and I have a routine that I follow and change up, but I’m not sure it’s a good one and I know my form is all wrong. Proper form to weight ratio is something that I hope to learn on here. So let the adventure begin.

Hello everyone,

I'm Elijah and I powerlift/strength train. Love this forum and the REAL info I get out of it. It's truly a breath of fresh air from real people's advice on routines to nutrition. I lifted routinely for a year in 1997 and did a meet in Seattle before I stopped lifting. I was 18 in the 165 weight class and benched 180 and deadlifted 405. I just started lifting again seriously about 7 months ago. I've been 165-170 lbs for the last 14 years and now finally weigh 185 after this 7 months of powerlifting and stuffing myself consistently with whole foods and protein. For the first 6 months I followed Grimwood Strength Systems powerlifting routine. I'm now in my 3rd week of 5-3-1. I started out with bodyweight of 165 and 14% body fat with maxes of 235/185/275. I now weigh 185 and 15% body fat with maxes of 325/235/375. The absolute key for me has been to just stick with it, stay consistent. I anticipate repeating the 5-3-1 until I'm not getting any gains in strength. Thanks again for a great forum with great info.

I am fatcar or Justin. I joined because I need to lose some pounds and would like to do so in a healthy way. This site looked pretty good to me so I thought I would give it a go.
