Hi, a friend of mine very kindly has offered to help me put on some mass and subsequently has been running a thread on efforts so far.
As he is currently (or at least should be) studying hard i thought i would join the site and post for myself saving him some time. From what i have seen so far everyone on this forum is pritty serious so hopefully i can stop with arm curls, follow some good advice and actually put on some size! cheers, KA>

My name is Patrick, I am 29 and just getting into the whole powerlifting mentality. Actually been training since I was about 22 but an illness caused me to lose about 55 pounds so that messed me up a few years. I was more of a casual gym goer, I went a few times a week but the diet and intensity was off I feel.
Moved over to UK from Ireland a few months back and have been more serious since and see some encouraging signs. Recently broke the 300 barrier for both squat and deadlift (308 for both) but my bench is stuck solid in the 225-230 area (but this measurement is via multiple reps and not an actual 1RM balls out effort unlike the other 2). Cleaned 154 a few days ago and can push press about the same amount. Probably already bored you lot with this life story! Anyways, I am on Wendler's 5/3/1 for now and hoping it will give me results. Been too preoccupied with short termism and finally realize that it takes a hell of a lot of time to build something. Wish I knew this many years ago. Anyway, look forward to chatting with you guys and hopefully get some tips and inspiration. P.S Strained a muscle in the lower back trying 319 deadlift on Monday. Made a stupid mistake by leaning forward as I pulled. Duh! Sore but I did a deload session today for my shoulders and planning more deload sessions for legs and chest on Sat and Sun. Better than sitting at home moping. |
