Default Popping Noise

My left shoulder makes a popping noise when I do DB flys or cable crossovers. No other exercises really does it. I have had guys watch my form and its good. I have tried to tweak the way I move and no matter how I move my arm the popping noise is there. It sounds like bone on bone but I have no clue. Anyone have any possible answers to what this could be?

I've been told that normally the 'popping' is tendons, not bone. As long as there is no pain associated with it, don't worry about it. If pain is involved, get it checked out.

I don't know the cause for certain but always assume it wasn't muscular. I feel unusual grinding or whatever during flyes and other chest isolation exercises so I avoid them.

My doctor and PT said the same thing after my shoulder injury. Neither was worried about any sound coming from the joint as long as there was no accompanying pain.

There could be a lot of reasons. Are you taking any fish oil or joint supps? For some folks one or both of those help. If it is a real concern for you, see a doc, though try to find one who deals with athletes as your family practitioner will probably do little more than prescribe fish oil or a joint supp.
