Drop your refined carbs to under 20g a day, up your fat intake with real foods. No vegetable oil. Olive oil is good, but not corn/soybean.

Low carb and exercise worked for me. Operative words are "for me." I would give it a try before turning to meds. There are some studies out showing a correlation between carbs and cholesterol, specifically LDL, numbers.

Its good stuff. I like macadamia oil a lot these days too, pretty high smoke point it seems.
