I used to do the home made slideboard in my mother's dining room. we would put Pledge on the floor.

I bet it's great for the legs and hips! I saw them years ago but it never dawned on me to make one and they seem pretty easy to make, flat slippery surface, done.

I think one could be made pretty easily with plywood, 2x4s and some laminated flooring.
