I get so lost with modern fitness sometimes. I guess at my core I have what some would call an unhealthy fear of complication. My first questions is always why? My second is...is anyone profiting?

I am not anti-capitalist by any means, but I do understand that "creating perceived needs" can be profitable, but not always the healthiest nor most efficient method.

"Creating perceived needs" is an excellent way of describing it. We see this a lot in the "fitness" industry.

People who think they need this sort of training have most certainly never done Squats or deadlifts.
