"The" Gym Question
Dear Mr. Steve,
My gym does not have a ______ (insert any standard, useful, necessary piece of equipment here - barbell, squat rack, dumbbells, Olympic plates, a roof). What different exercises should I use? Answer: Find a new gym. |
Or the other side...
"My gym only has a Smith machine, what should i do with this, instead of the exercises you perscribed..." Same Answer :) Carl. |
haha..you shouldn't be working out at a gym that doesn't have a squat rack
|
This is the only answer to that question.

I see so mony posts (not on here ) where people are complaining that their gym has no squat rack/power cage/dumbbells over 30kg even one who said there were no Barbells... I just wanna scream "THATS NOT A F**KING GYM, IDIOT" Carl. |
It kills me when I receive questions from folks who train at a gym without barbells and dumbbells. I had no clue gyms like this existed.
I think it's safe to say that most of us (98-99%) are within 20-30 minutes of a gym that does have useful equipment. If you can't afford a gym...sell your CDs, gaming system, or your underwear on Ebay. If you don't have a car, walk. If you are the 1% who lives in North Dakota, spent $1000 on a home gym. If you have no money or gym, push your car and lift rocks. Then do pullups, dips, situps and pushups. |
I dont know what sort of gym wouldnt have a cage, a rack and the other essential things. I have 4 gym within a 10 minute drive that has all those things.
|
my gym has a squat/power rack and smith machine but until recently, after days of hounding the owner, didnt have a proper bench or leg press.benching inside the power rack was annoying.
