This is close to what I was going to post.

I would only add a decadent society/empire that encourages greed and gluttony among other things, hopelessness/despair (associated with depression, would make sense), apathy / low energy levels, and misinformation / toxic belief systems (from family, media, school, etc.)

Altogether, it's a poisonous stew, that's for sure. Any combination of those things, really.

edit: And then there's blind habit, past a point. This can work for good or evil, or anything else for that matter: sloth, fitness, being helpful, being selfish, and so on.

Medications, Beta blockers, steroids etc...there's probably a whole list and although as with the thyroid issue and other such issues, it may affect a smaller group of people and not be considered as a "factor that contributes to obesity", it should be made apparent that it can and does indeed do so, at least as a footnote.

I was just reading about the impact of certain medications. Timely response.

I am not a powerlifter nor am I a bodybuilder. I just want to be big and strong.

Steve I just attached a term report I wrote about two years ago that I think may be relevant to your needs.

EDIT: I had to email it as the attachment keeps giving me an error
