Ritalin for a 21/2 year old

This is just crazy. Lets dope a kid up instead of finding out why he acts like he does. Does not make sense to me at all.

That is a shame. What is that doctor thinking putting a child this young on this. I agree we need to get to the source of the trouble and not drug up a child. That poor kid will have trouble the rest of his life if they are introducing drugs to him at this early of an age. This will only get worse for him if they do not address the real issue.

I feel bad for the kid. It is not his fault that the is never home. I bet if the parents worked on a schedule they could get one figured out so he is home with at least one of the parents. But this is probably easier on the parents and maybe they just do not give a crap.

I also wonder how the absence of a parent plays into this mix. I've seen more than my fair share of "Johnny no" parents over the years. The parent parrots Johnny no hundreds of times, but you get the sense that the parent never delivers consequences for actions. The child looks to be completely in control, unaccustomed to boundaries and unchecked.

I have seen many kids like this. And then the parents wonder why they can not control them. Could it be because they were never much a parent to begin with? This child will end up spiraling out of control if something is not changed and it is not meds that the kid needs. It is a good home.

What? You have got to be kidding me? A child that is that young has no business being on ritalin. Why would a doctor even think that it was fine to prescribe. And why did the parents say ok to it? Right because they are rarely in this child's life.

Seriously? A toddler on ritalin. Is that a common practice any more? I would not think that it would be a good idea. I mean the kid is just living how he only knows how. Bounced from daycare to grandmas and then only home to sleep. I feel for the kid, I really do. He needs some good stability and not the pills.

I have never heard of putting a child this young on this. It is sad to me and a huge shame. Why would you even want your child on this if he was that young. Does not make sense to me at all. I pity those parents, they are not helping the child at all.
