Sleep apnea
 

Anyone on here have sleep apnea? If so do you have to use a machine at night? Years ago I had a sleep test done but never got it read right because I barely slept that night. Now I am so tired all the time and think this may be the cause of it. I do not really want to sleep with a machine each night but would love to feel rested again.

I have it. I use what is called a Bi-PAP machine because my case is so bad. It is really not as bad as it seems. The tubing is very light and does not interfere with my sleep at all. If you are tired all day, it IS the sleep apnea. Once you start sleeping well, you will fall in love with your machine. ;)

I use my CPAP machine, even for naps. If I travel, it's the first thing I pack.

Sounds like you may have sleep apnea. I would suggest that you have the test taken again to see what is up.

I know I need to have the test done again. Guys on here that have sleep apnea when you had the test done overnight, did you get a sleeping pill? My doc told me that they would give me one and when I got there, the tech said oh no she needed to prescribe it for me and she did not . So the night was wasted with me getting no sleep.

I think a sleeping pill would be a bad idea. The test is to see how you sleep under normal conditions. Having said that, trying to sleep at the clinic was hardly normal for me.

i too sleep with a c pap machine, once you get used to it, it sure does make a huge difference.
i Did get perscribe a sleep aid when they did my study and i only got a hour or so sleep, they attendent actually came in and said something to me that if i didnt get atleast a lil sleep than the test would be no good.... your doctor has to perscribe a sleep pill in order for the attendant to give it to you at most places... i suggest that you get the study done and hopefully it helps you out

I didn't even know that I fell asleep during the test. They told me I did. I thought I had been awake all night. I guess if you have it, it doesn't take long to find out. I didn't have any sleep aid.

I suggest you get the test done. Sleep apnea is nothing to mess with and you can not go around tired all the time.

Lose weight, period. I was developing it when I pushed 270lbs, went on a weight loss crusade to the mid 230's, regained back into the 250s-low 260s and have no problems anymore.
