Do what you can on any given day. That might be a full session or a severely abbreviated one. Short of severe stomach upsets though I'll usually do something.

There's probably a reason you're sick or feeling run down, I wouldn't push it.

I read a pretty good rule of thumb somewhere. Above the neck go train. Below the neck, take an rest day.

I usually will work out unless I am extremely sick. I know when I can not exercise, a little cold usually does not bother me. I have worked out with a sore throat, cold, headache. But only if it is not too bad.
