Pills Getting Stuck

I take a prescription every night. The pills are not huge and seem easy to swallow. However, lately they have been getting caught in my chest. It hurts when they do as the pill just seems like it is sitting there, giving me heart burn. any suggestions on how to make them go down easier?

crush them up and put them in some food

As above or if they can't be crushed, take more water with them or after them, or eat something straight afterwards if permitted; or, do like I do, manipulate the windpipe but I have it down to an artform, so maybe not

Drink lots of water

Drink plenty before hand and after to make sure that the windpipe is wet enough to have the pill go all the way down.

I have had this trouble before and it really can hurt. I have found that if I eat something with my pills it does not make them get stuck.

Eating with medications is always a good idea. It may not say that you have to but I find that it makes the pills go down much better.
