Default Headache or migraine

What is the difference between a headache and a migraine? Lately I have been getting really intense headaches and have thrown up once with them and other times I feel sick to my stomach. Would this be considered to be a migraine?

A headache hurts; a migraine, you'd rather not live through

However, migraines can take many forms and I've had the "pleasure" of experiencing some with no pain at all but visual disturbances..those I'd much rather have than to endure the agony of migraine associated head pain on top of vomiting.

I am a migraine sufferer. A headache is a discomfort in your head. A migraine can include the following visual disturbances, numbness in various parts of the body, naseau, sensitivity to light and sounds, and a headache that I have often described as "feeling as if I were struck by a hatchet".
They tend to vary somewhat in severity and symptoms. And there is no way to predict when they will occur or how bad they will be.

I think it sounds like a migraine. I would get it checked out by a doctor if you are having them a lot as it could be something more major.

When I get a migraine, I feel like I could throw up. I am sometimes sensitive to light and loud noises bother me a lot.

Never had a migraine but my aunt suffers from them all the time. I know that they are very painful to her and she just has to go in a cool dark room and sleep them off.

With headaches you usually do not throw up. I would say it is a migraine. Do you get them alot? Maybe you need to consult your doctor and see if something else is up. Can you see properly? It could be your eyes.

Sounds like a migraine to me. With an intense pain and you feel like you are going to toss your cookies, I would tend to go with migraine but then again I am no doctor.
