I'm not going to name names. I just do a lot Google searching and I see these slick ass blogs with stuff like ask the expert and then you see their picture and they have 14 inch arms and look like some average guy with no muscle.

Well, I see what you're saying, but judging the quality of information based on what someone looks like does have some problems.
In the 1970s and 1980s, the equivalent was mail order courses by bodybuilders. They certainly looked like they lifted, but was their advice any good for the average guy? Not necessarily: Mike Mentzer was advising 1-2 working sets per bodypart per week. At the opposite end of the scale, you had the insane volume of Steve Michalik. Drug usage made their schemes irrelevant to most people. Lyle MacDonald doesn't look like he could lift a packet of crisps (though actually, he did compete as a powerlifter), but he has lots of interesting and useful stuff to say about training and diet.
