It was on TV last week. It's a few years since I saw it, and I'd forgotten how good it was: it's a film of ideas, with a really sharp script, and Heston is brilliant, as always.
By comparison, the Tim Burton version is just a dumb special effects flick.

Oh, here's one I watch every time it's on:
The Time Machine (the 1960 version with Rod Taylor).

Godzilla: King of the Monsters (actually, today is the anniversary of its American release). First Sci-Fi/monster movie I ever saw.
Christmas Vacation Casino Royale (the original with Woody Allen) - great soundtrack Take the Money and Run (another early Woody Allen) Blues Brothers (the original - NOT the 2000 flop) Blazing Saddles Cat Ballou Young Man with a Horn (Kirk Douglas stars as trumpet player, Ricky Martin. Doris Day and Hogie Charmichel also star). I'm sure there's a few more.

"When some wild-eyed, eight-foot-tall maniac grabs your neck, taps the back of your favorite head up against the barroom wall, and he looks you crooked in the eye and he asks you if ya paid your dues, you just stare that big sucker right back in the eye, and you remember what ol' Jack Burton always says at a time like that: "Have ya paid your dues, Jack?" "Yessir, the check is in the mail."

My grandmother had this on VHS and i watched it so much it literally wore it out and she had to buy another copy. Amazing flick. Made me a fan of Jane Fonda and Lee Marvin for life.
Wow, i havent seen it in years either, thanks for a reminder, i need to try and find me a copy of this ASAP.
