I agree with what you've said, working out is just part of my weekly schedule. I get really excited when I have a good lifting day, but I also find value in the bad lifting days. I couldn't imagine my week going by without exerting myself in the gym, it's just what I do, not for any type of glory but just because i like it.
But why do you have to be so down on pizza? It's part of my week too

Lifting is something I have done a few days a week since I was 14 years old (28/ almost 29 now). I enjoy pushing the limits of my body. This is a big reason why I compete as well. The energy on the platform can push my body to another level. Lifting provides a great since of accomplishment for anyone who takes it seriously. Doesnt matter if you bench 100 or 1000.

I always find these people fascinating, they seem to think that all anyone should do is whatever they themselves are doing.
We do it because we can and we want to, simple. What appeals to one does not appeal to all; I lift weights but I don't like the overly steroidal guys/gals but it's their path to choose etc. I also hold my breath just for the fun of it, there's no good reason for it, not really, but I find enjoyment in adding that extra second and the bliss (aka BlueOpium) that accompanies it.
