Female bodybuilding double standards...on another forum, this question was asked...

Is Iris Kyle bad for woman’s bodybuilding?

The men all said yes, but a female poster spoke up with the following:

So what about the men? The men look like cartoon characters… they are grossly out of proportion for the typical male form. We should outlaw drugs in general? That’s why there are natural shows. Go to those if that is your preference. Just as some of you guys do not appreciate muscular women, I assure you that most of the female population do NOT appreciate the amount of muscle on male pros either…so they don’t go to shows. I suggest that if the women bother you, you go to the f**kin bathroom or something while they are on stage.

Good point made, but I think of it like this. When a woman loses her feminine look, then it just turns me away. And I don't mind...and in fact like a girl to be fit and naturally musclular, but to me some of them just look gross.

But yeah, I guess in a nutshell it is a double standard.

My opinion is this...it's not an apples to apples comparison. When a man gets bigger, he looks like a bigger man. When a (some, not all) woman gets bigger, she looks like a bigger man.

The female sport is doing good, now that it has fitness and figure anyway. The IFBB female bodybuilding show, the Tampa Pro, almost got canceled last year for lack of sponsorship.

I think there are classes for all sizes of women, from bikini to she-beast. Variety is good.
