Default Sauna + Steam room

Hi all,

Just wondering what your opinion is on using the sauna and steam room after a workout?

I find it to be pretty relaxing after a tough session but is there any positives or negatives to it?

I get in a sauna(about 155 degrees) for about 10-15 minutes after every assistance training session. Followed by a contrast shower. Make's me feel great. I have a hot tub at home, which I use almost daily. Followed by ice on the shoulders. I can't say if it actually helps recovery, but it does make me feel better.

Yeah, if you can swing it, it's a nice idea. I just find the types of gyms I like to train in generally don't have sauna/spa facilities.

I go as often as time permits... i work out at a gym with only weights and cardio stuff, but i'm on a family plan at the ymca in town where theres a steam room and sauna. If i can make it over before they close, i hit them up.
