I have an upcoming trip to India, where I plan on visiting different universities, talk to people, make a few research presentations and build up my network before I start applying for faculty jobs towards end of this year / early next year. From a career standpoint this is going to be perhaps my most crucial year so far.

The biggest thing I am looking forward to is losing 50 pounds, come hell or high water. My life insurances rates are out of control and I need to lose this to lower my premiums substantially.
I am also looking forward to paying off my credit cards this year. Almost there!

Sounds like we all have awesome things going on this year. My wife and I were lucky enough to get out of credit card debt before we got married. I have my parents to thank for that.
Kuyt, you're writing a novel? That's amazing. My wife has tossed around ideas for writing a novel here and there for a few years, but never stayed serious about it.

Looking forward to finishing most of my coursework and finally getting my degree is Computer science (albeit 7 years late)
Looking forward to a full year of training that won't be wasted on some fad routine or advanced split I wasn't ready for. Looking forward to dropping some fat and adding plenty of muscle and dressing as a barbarian for halloween.
