Default Why Abaddon got Banned

I woke up this morning with several inquiries as to why Abaddon was banned. I want to explain so we can move on. I do not wish to personally take any more heat over this.

Abaddon turned a heated discussion into a multiple pronged attack that included the starting of new threads that were meant only as attack threads. Abaddon also took the war to Facebook, posting links to MAB and calling out another member. Finally, Abs posted this in his log:

Quote:
I don't want to be a member of a site that endorses stupid physiques. It flies in the face of what this site is supposed to be about. If this is my last post, then I wish all you the best. I am moving ahead of the haters, phoneys and juicers... if that means I'm also moving ahead of MAB, then so be it.
MAB does not endorse anything other than intelligent, open, respectful conversation.

The physique in question..."Mo"...is the topic of a documentary. A documentary is not an endorsement of a lifestyle, situation or idea, but rather a fair look at the topic.

Note: I had to post this because Abaddon is using Facebook and other methods to personally attack the site and me, and has implied that I am somehow using this discussion to promote AAS discussion.

For the record, I have no idea what he's talking about. I was sitting with my family last night and decided to check the forum. What I found was a hot mess and a personal feud; a feud that somehow was twisted to make myself and the entire forum look like it was to blame.

MAB is not trying to "promote" anything, end of story. I have better things to do with my time and life than to "scheme" with some "secret agenda".

This forum grows organically because we remove toxins quickly. I will continue to use this approach.

While we are all participants in this site, we are not the owners, we don't pay the bills, You do. You do not owe any of us an apology for protecting your investment. I followed, though did not comment on the threads in question here, ( I rarely get on Facebook, that is my wife's addiction) and never once thought you or Doc were out of line. Ab's initial question was legitimate but as I believe Doc pointed out, not appropriate for that particular thread. I am sorry that it could not end there.

At any rate, let's move forward. You have a great site here Steve. Keep up the good work.

This site is about open and frank discussion. We debate rather than argue. Long may this continue.

That sucks, but sometimes it has to happen. Personally, I wasn't touching that Mo thread with a 10' pole because I had nothing constructive to add.

Speaking for myself (and possibly the majority) I have faith in you Steve and trust your judgement. Sometimes you have to do what you have to do. You have your standards and I'm glad you don't back down from them when things get unpleasant. The forum has been (and is) an awesome little corner of the internet.

I think the way MaB is ran is very fair, respectful, open and honest.
The only agenda I see promoted here is that of sharing real knowledge and experience and positive encouragement among weight lifters.

I don't understand how that is not enough for anyone who is involved in the weightlifting lifestyle.

I am not a powerlifter nor am I a bodybuilder. I just want to be big and strong.

Because where there are people, there will be pecking orders. People seem to need them to understand their relative placement.

Free weights over machines, natural over chemical, raw over equipped.

It's all silly to me.

We're all trying to be big and strong and/or look good and each of us will take our own personal path to get there. As long as we get there, what else matters? Everyone has the right to choose their own path to follow their own dream.

This is a great place, Steve. The people who punch at you are lucky you don't punch back.
