Remember kids
Remember kids, change programs every two months or you will die.

Oh FAWK!
I've been doing the same program (give or take some exercise selections) since November and have only gotten bigger. I must be doing it wrong. |

Changing programs aside, you have to love the "You must...DO THIS...or gains will cease" information that is passed around and will probably never die. |

Let's see, my gains ceased/stalled when I (a) had the stomach issues and couldn't keep food in me and (b) I wasn't eating enough. |
Hard work, food and consistency is so undervalued compared to all the things elevated as magic fix alls.
|
My last program I did for 22 weeks which is approx. 5 months, I believe.
I didn't start to get my best gains until after 2 months. |
I have found that there is an adaptation/conditioning period that takes place for most programs because of volume/intensity/whatever differences. I don't feel I even begin to perform at full speed until after weeks 3-4.
For example, when I used rest pause in 2008 it took me 4 weeks before I adapted and was able to progress consistently. The SAID (specific adaptation) that occurs allows a lifter to better focus on performance and progression as opposed to fatigue/energy management. |

One of the worst cases of adaptation for me was my transition to fullbody training. I think I drove Glwanabe nuts. It took almost a year. I was trying to do too much.
|
I have done fullbody since February and have just changed. I have had some good gains, could have been better if diet and consistency had been better, but the only thing you need to change regularly is how much food you eat as you get BIGGER :)
Consistency and Food = WIN :mh: Carl. |
