Smoking around children

Nothing pisses me off more than when an adult decides they will smoke with my child in the car.

My daughter was brought home by a friend's parent tonight. She had a headache from being trapped in the car for 40 minutes and smelled like a bar.

I wanted to head to the car and start shoving lit cigarettes into dark places.

That is so ****ed up. I smoke, and I smoke in my car, but not with kids ever.

Pretty disrespectful, especially with somebody else's kids in the car. I defend people's right to smoke if they want to, but they shouldn't force others to breath it.

I smoked in the military. I would never have smoked in front of someone else's kids. I would have expected an ass whopping.

In my opinion that is child abuse. I think you have every right to feel the way you do. If someone wants to smoke, fine, they have that right. But, non smokers have the right to not be forced to inhale second hand smoke, and that is something smokers should respect.

I actually take that to the next level and am very hesitant to even let someone who has been smoking touch my child. Nicotine and other chemicals from cigarettes stays on and is absorbed through the skin. And can be passed from a smoker to non smoker.

in my country they are considering bringing in a law where you cant smoke in the car , it is for this very reason, i agree with it 100% . if someone wants to smoke then work away , but do it in a manner that doesnt affect others , especially children

I smoked for 15 years, and was always very careful not to smoke around children. I only smoked in my car if I was by myself, or with other smokers. And I never smoked indoors unless visiting friends who smoked indoors.

This person is self-centred, and probably displays their selfishness in a range of other ways; maybe they don't get up from their seat for the elderly, or litter, or don't use their park lights in cloudy weather.

But smoking in front of kids in a closed space isn't simply rude, it's dangerous, and can directly impact the health of other people in a serious way.

This person is a ****wit.

Did you at least give that individual a piece of your mind? I can't stand being around someone who is smoking, and wouldn't tolerate it of my children either.

You didn't even tell them off? You have more self control than myself. I would have let them have it. My wife's family are famous for smoking and cussing around children. One reason I'm looking forward to being in the military is not having to spend too much time around them when we have little ones.
