As I write this, the exact origin(s) and nature of this legal, over-the-counter substitute for marijuana is yet to be disclosed or discovered.

In Australia, there is already legislation about to be implemented banning the product.

I only heard about the stuff last week, and while I am not advocating marijuana use – or the use of any drug, for that matter – I would like to record my experiences on this still legal and apparently innocuous herb.

The effects are very much like marijuana in the context of sight and sound; these senses are heightened. Enjoyment of music and visual input is enhanced. Initially, vision is slightly blurry around the edges, and there is a deep, warm sense of sedentary well being.

The real difference is apparent when it comes to hand-eye coordination, cognitive function, motor skills and balance; all these abilities feel just a little enhanced… to a degree – meaning if you smoke a bunch of it you’ll pretty much just want to veg out on the couch listening to Ice House. Or some shit.
Do just enough of it and you'll be playing hackey-sack, or whatever, like normal. Hipsters.

These effects remain constant for about the same length of time as cannabis (I’m told). But there is no increase in appetite that I noticed – in fact, I ate half the amount I would normally and felt satisfied, so it may in fact be a hunger suppressant. Of course, individual experiences will vary.

I find it interesting that the Aussies can't get a hold of cheap supps, yet they have a secret weed supp.
