Conan (Rant)
This is the guy who stars in the new Conan film. This is a picture from the movie and that is supposed to be Conan the Barbarian.  That is not Conan, there is nothing Conan about this pathetic excuse of a curling in the squat rack idiot (he is all chest and biceps and not even that he got right) I remember the 80's and 90's actions stars, they were ****ing big and they did not look like angry kids. What ideals of manliness will the kids of today have watching characters like this play their heroes? This is conan  Over and out, glad to get that off my chest.

Actually I was just commenting on that the other day. He just doesn't look *beefy* enough to be Conan. I mean for Arnold's sake.... ARNOLD was Conan. WTF were the casting guys thinking?

I could find about 20 natural bodybuilders who would have looks 10 times better then this guy. But I bet the pec and abzors crowd will want his workout. Brah.

Well, as on the Thor thread, I'm going to disagree here. The problem is that very few huge bodybuilder guys can act worth a damn.
So long as the physique is in the right ball park, I think you'll get a better film with a competent actor than some physically more impressive plank of wood. For example, I don't think Troy was a great film, but Brad Pitt made a good Achilles. He can't weigh more than a buck-seventy, but he's athletic, he moves well and he actually sounds like he might be the character. I like Arnold, but he was laughable in Conan. "...Und hear de lamentations ov de vimmin." The Conan actor's physique looks OK to me; I'll reserve full judgement until I see it. |

in the case of conan...i think being huge > acting skills.
the plots are always ridiculous in the movies. at least have a huge beastly dude kicking ass.
