For one second there I thought I was gonna learn Chinese :D

I took a course in college but really only learned that a word has 4 different meanings based on inflection.

I know, it's crazy. I learned a small bit of Mandarin Chinese "Ni Hao Babala" yeah, the instructor says that Babala is as close as they will understand to my name...to me, a name is a name in any language and has no need of alteration, unless it translates as something really bad, of course.

You could bump your knee mid-sentence, change your inflection, and accidentally tell someone to jump off a bridge...

LOL, that's so true...it took me ages to say "Ni Hao" correctly even though I thought I was saying it the same as the instructor but she obviously didn't think so, Lord knows what I was saying, in reality :D
