i dont want to spend a ton of cash, but i dont want to buy something im going to regret buying cause its a pile of crap. i was originally looking at this cause i found it for $320 to my door. . .but after reading and poking around the interwebz, it seems alot of people say this is a good rack. . POWER RACKS the TDS rack is slighty more expensive by around $80 but it has a lot of good reviews. anyone have or have any experience with any of these? any other racks that you would reccomend for around 400ish? i considered the powertec but i prefer the straight across pull up bar on top |

I own TDS products. I get them from New York Barbell.
POWER RACKS Check out the sumo squat rack. It's only $330 and good quality. I own own, have beaten the snot out of it for the last 4 years including weekly heavy squats and deadlifts, and it hasn't flinched. SUMO RACK The one you have linked gets great reviews, so if you can get it $320 delivered that's a darn good deal...

Well that rack gets some great reviews. It's hard to pull of 4.5 stars on Amazon for that many reviews without being solid. My only hesitation is that I don't know how well it holds up to years of stresses over 350-400 pounds which, in general, most reviewers aren't using. I have read one review when a man commented that he was able to use 400 without blinking so I think it's worth exploring. If you find more reviews along those same lines I would pull the trigger.
My TDS rack serves me very well, but it's a little more pricey. I would go Powerline for that price if it were my money. The sumo rack is good for folks with low ceilings (basements). While I wish I had the money to purchase a more expensive rack, I don't. I will say that I have squatted 350+ in my rack for 4 years, and beat the heck out of it in many ways including presses and rack deads, and haven't once thought this isn't cutting it. The rack has exceeded my expectations and then some.
