Avengers. No disappointment at all. Total WIN. Rufallo = Best. Hulk. EVER.

There are TWO after movie scenes. Stay for both. I'll be going back to see this again this coming weekend.

I watched this last night.

It has a lot of low-budget charm. I think the 'found footage' mockumentary thing has been done to death now, but it was a great way of tackling the subject matter.

Not surprisingly for a Norwegian film, it had a very Scandanavian feel to it: brooding, dryly humorous and nicely underplayed throughout. I see Hollywood has bought the rights for a remake. So that will be good, then.

A central theme is that the Norwegian government is covering up evidence that trolls exist. To my mind, the film kind of lost its way with this - as if they couldn't quite decide what to do with the idea.

That aside, it was a lot of fun, and just shows that you don't have to throw squillions at a film to make something entertaining.

Off to see 'Avengers Assemble' in an hour.

I couldn't stay for the scenes. Can you tell us what they were?

Looking forward to the Avengers, might see it after finals this weekend.

Watch Ip Man, a rather excellent Kung Fu movie with good story and character development. Great fight scenes for a modern movie as well.

Sure. The first scene happens after the actor credits. The Shaowy creature that was working with Loki is talking to someone about plans, yadda, yadda.

The pull in closer to see to whom he speak and it is: Thanos.

Then, all the long credits roll. And, remember when Tony is laying in the street, saying he wants to to go that restaurant?

They show all of them, post-battle, sitting there, eating and not talking--woofing down food like a PWO meal, as if they are just regular people. They are all in uniform (except Tony as his suit was broken). It was hilarious.

Place the unnatural in natural situations..

Might go back and see it again.

I'm definitely headed back for an encore this weekend. Have about 5 friends who have already seen it twice.

Just returned from Avengers. I enjoyed it a lot.

The script was very sharp, with some nice comedic touches without being camped up. They've really dispensed with any comic-book cheese. Loki gets all the best lines, as befits any supervillian.

Whedon puts the characters centre-stage, rather than using them as adjuncts to special effects (though there are plenty of those). That's as it should be, because otherwise you get some dumb piece of junk like Transformers. Characters were nicely drawn, which is stupendously tough when you've got an ensemble in an action flick.

Performances are uniformly strong. Tom Whatisface as Loki steals most scenes, but Mark Ruffalo's also good. He makes Banner less of a victim than in previous incarnations, whcih works. Chris Hemsworth makes a solid Thor, though he's not particularly godly.

It's a bit of a messy film, which is to be expected when you're trying to get loads of stories to coalesce into one coherent whole, but I think you have to swallow that for the spectacle. Really good fun overall.

Hiddleston. I agree. His delivery as Loki was stunning. Just the amount of determination, irreverence, and slimy manipulation that he put into the character is really befitting the his comic book counterpart. He comes off as genuinely smart and dangerous. And Hurt. His resentment of Thor and need to prove himself was a nice, constant undertone to his performance.
