50/50, a comedy drama about a guy who gets cancer. A moving but thought provoking comedy at the same time in regards to how people around the person with cancer react differently and how the person with cancer approaches the illness through the full range of emotions from acceptance to denial, and so forth. Average film.
Project Nim, about the "scientific" experiment carried out during the 70's on a chimpanzee to see whether they could be taught to communicate. The project director canme to the odd conclusion that the chimp could not communictae because he could only sign words and not utilise grammar, however, that is how the deaf community use sign; they do not use lots of grammar just the necessary words. I thought it was going to be rubbish but I enjoyed it, to a degree, I didn't enjoy seeing how they tried to humanise a chimp or the manner in which he was treated being pushed from pillar to post; it also highlighted their ignorance in regard to the way they felt they could place Nim in a human societal setting and have him adapt and fit in. His natural primate instincts drove him to act in accord to how he would had he been living with other chimps even though he really hadn't had any contact with any; which was interesting, in itself.

Not a film, but I blitzed through season 4 of House on DVD having not watched it in a good few years now. Makes a really nice change of pace from the previous series' and freshens it up a lot. And that ending... I shan't say any more.
Ordered seasons 5 and 6 earlier today. Also, my buddy and I have just started watching the first season of the Friday Night Lights TV show, apparently based upon the 2005(?) film. Really starting to get into it and look forward to seeing what happens next. It also helps that it's about American Football.

Another Earth, not a bad film, though a bit slow; hubby didn't think much to the ending because it was abrupt, to say the least, however, I found the ending worked well because it left the audience with unanswered questions...but I won't say which 3 questions came to mind because I wouldn't want to ruin the ending for those that have not seen it.
The audience don't get any clue as to what Earth 2 is like either which I guess most would have wanted to see but then again that just leaves more questions in the viewer's mind. Certainly not in my top 10 but worth watching.

It's very British - I wondered how well it would play across the pond. Personally, I thought it was great.
