Saw Pirates of the Caribbean (On Stranger Tides) It was OK, some funny bits and a decent enough family film (just like all the others were really), but in general just felt like they were flogging the franchise if I'm honest. Although Penelope Cruz, as a girl pirate and in a hat... very cool

Watched The Devil's Double last night; a brilliant film if not a bit sick considering it was based on fact. It's about the double of Saddam's son, Odessa (??) and about the son himself. The actor plays both roles; and aside from the warring and slightly macabre acts throughout the film, there are two really emotionally moving scenes...which I won't go into, in case anyone else wants to watch the film; don't want to spoil it.

I enjoyed it more than I thought I would.

Watched X Men First Class. Good film with minor things I didn't care for. Occasional bad special effects, didn't like Beast, etc. Far too many good points though for the small points to matter.

Started watching Thor last night, watched about 40 mins and Mrs Carl wanted to turn it off due to, 'the acting's bad and I dont want to waste my night watching this, it's more of a Sunday afternoon film'....

Hmmmm... Mrs. Carl must have a pretty high bar for acting!

LOL

Truthfully, the acting in THOR was much better than Green Lantern, and Captain America. IMHO.

I think she just thought the way Thor was speaking sounded wrong... I think she didnt realise the actor was putting it on and he actually talked like that in real life...

Remember this is the woman that calls me to tell me she is going to call me later in the day

I agree 100%.

When Capt A was tiny I liked the movie much better. Green Lantern was just uck and pew.
